All was quiet on the Western front on June 11th, setting the scene for the National Competition. Our girls went to Anaheim, California to compete at the National Gymnastics Association competition, hearts ablaze, and zealous for glory.
As a last stand as a Maverick Wave Competitor, Our MVP K.Leigh Bright knew that she wanted to do well, but wasn’t sure what the fierce competition would bring. Teams from all over the US were invited to try their luck on the 4 events: Bars, Beam, Floor, and Vault. The judges as well were chosen by skill level, one of them being a main judge for the Olympic trials and for the Olympics in Paris this year.
With Courage, grit, and dedicated coaches, she was able to pull through and make history by winning first place as a level 9 on vault! Taking home our gym’s first national gold, she will be the first senior banner to hang up in our gym. She has made history for this gym, and for herself, leaving behind a legacy of gentle greatness.
Our MVP has moved on to greater heights, living in Canada with family to attend St. Thomas University. But she will return for Holidays and Summer vacation. Keep your eyes on this one, she is destined for greatness to come!
