The best things to eat for Gymnastics: When it comes to any physical activity, what you eat helps determine how you will perform. Gymnastics is both mental and physical, but without the proper fuel, you can burn out quickly. Now I understand that fats and oils are very delicious, and are needed at the top of the food groups; but, everything in moderation is good. Not all sugar-filled cereals can help you get through the full day. Protein such as chicken, eggs, and fish are quite health hy. They bring us the nutrients we need to grow and repair our cells. Most people eat enough chicken and eggs, but not enough fish, nuts, and seeds. These include B vitamins that help your hair and nails grow healthy, and Vitamin D which is important for keeping your heart healthy. If you are allergic to peanuts, tahini (sesame seeds and oil) is a great alternative. Pumpkin seed butter is also a popular option to try, and perfect for the current season!
Dairy is very important; it gives us vitamin C and calcium to help make strong bones and a better immune system. Yogurt is a crowd favorite dairy, and if you are lactose intolerant, Fage brand yoghurt is always available. Fruits have potassium and fibers that helps clean out our bodies, and keep our hearts healthy. Corn, despite being used as a vegetable, is a fruit because it grows from flowers on the vines. Vegetables also have a high amount of fiber and vitamins that help us live. From eggplants to potatoes, everything is delicious. If you need to spice up your vegetables, garlic and oregano are my personal favorite! The most important part of nutrition is eating what will make you feel good. Fueling your body with the right nutrients will help it function well. The more protein and veggies you eat, the better your body will hold up in practice.
